I coach a varsity soccer team in a very poor and small school in a division that has much more money to put into their programs. Also we are one of the few schools to play both soccer and football in the fall, meaning most of the better athletes gravitate towards the football team. This has lead us go without a win for the past 6 years. I took over the team last year and we did improve but still went winless. The guys seemed to lose most of their drive late in the season understandably. How can I keep my players motivated when the wins won't seem to come for us?

You must focus on individual goals which will help the team. For example, marking your opponent, "quality" corners, etc. and goals in practice through successful drills. Place point totals on them for T-shirts or some other items that are neat to have and show pride in the program/sport.

You should start switching the players's position. Put the right winger at center half-back, the right defender at right inside on the front. You might discover that someone who played defender has a pounding corner kick expertise.
