LOS ANGELES (May 16) - Paris Hilton will serve about half of her 45-day jail sentence and will be separated from the general inmate population, authorities said Wednesday
The hotel heiress will spend about 23 days in a "special needs housing unit" at the Century Regional Detention Center in suburban Lynwood, Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said.
Her sentence was shortened after jail officials gave her credit for good behavior, Whitmore said. Officials considered several factors in calculating the credit, including that she appeared for her latest court date, he said.
Hilton will stay in a unit that contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates, he said.
Like everyone else in the 2,200-inmate facility, Hilton will get at least an hour outside her cell each day to shower, watch television, participate in outdoor recreation or talk on the telephone, he said.

Honestly I'm so sick of celebrities and them getting a slap on the wrist for breaking the law. Here in real life, people make mistakes and they pay for it, whether it be jail time, probation or a suspended license, especially if the offender has done something repeatedly.
My brother screwed up a few times, drinking and driving. You know what he got? Jail time, probation and a $10,000 fine on his license which got suspended. So in order for him to drive honestly, he has to shell out that much money. What does Paris have to do? Flash her tiny B cup boobs in a porn movie??
And SO WHAT that she'll be spending time in jail with other people? She shouldn't have to have a silver platter handed to her with her jail cell because she's got a few bucks. Treat her like the rest of the criminals!

No, I think that she needs to be treated like everyone else. Just because daddy's rich doesn't mean that she is above the law. Keep in mind that this was not her first offense. I think real jail time will do her some good, she needs to know that her actions have consequences and that she can't get out of it by paying someone off.
God Bless!!

I think it would be dangerous for her to be in jail with other inmates because of who she is. I dont think she should have her time cut in half concidering she did have 2 warnings. I think she should have to do community service in addition to her jail time.
What i dont get is if she has so much money, why not hire a driver to drive her around while her licence was suspended.

I am absolutely sure it is fair. It is a total coincidence the judge on the case just got a brand new Porsche special Hilton Edition.

its bull$h!t that a ***** like paris hilton gets her sentence cut...but typical of the american justice system to reward celebrities for "good behavior." So one time of good behavior overwrites all the previous $H!T she does. If she's soo "traumatized" of her sentence, maybe she should have made better choices with her worthless excuse of a human life. what a crappy flawed system.

Of course it's not fair. But it is one more example of how the Hollywood elite are so much better than the rest of us. You can literally KILL someone and walk if you're part of the in crowd. (Ask Tony Blake or O.J.) Personally I think she should have to do all her time mixed with the general population.

No and every normal person that ever goes to court should bring that up!
If we quit paying these fools for absolutely nothing things would get better.
