The phrase let bygones be bygones is referring to things that have happened to you in your life such as an arguement or fight with another person. Or forgiving and forgetting someone who has wronged you so you can move on with life. Jesus is as important today as He was 2000 years ago, if not more so. The two have nothing in common.
