my son igonna be named after his father but i told him i want to have a nick name for the baby. his name is peter john!! what will be a good nick name??

nick names kinda come with a personality... Id wait and see what happens.. i have a friend named pete and for whatever reason we call him wheat straw...

Depends on what his father goes by... If Dad is Pete, then how about John or Jack? Try to find a different nickname, otherwise things will just be confusing.

There's always Junior, Chip (off the old block), Bubba, Red, Sandy (if he's a blond instead of a redhead), or any other nickname that people end up with.

Nick names tend to be a short version of there name. Except for Pete and PJ there really aren't many options with that name.

I guess I would go with P. J. Just don't let anyone refer to father and son as Big Peter and Little Peter. I think that could be very embarrassing for both of them...well, maybe not so embarrassing for your husband ;-)
