Daniel was on option for us with our boy :) SO perhaps she likes teh same type names we have chosen. Our boy we have is David Joseph. The one due in December if a boy will be Jacob Alexander. All teh best to your friend!

I like same initials for siblings so I would stick with D.
How about David Ryan? Daniel and David both D, both Biblical, both can grow with the child (Davy to Dave to David if desired.)
