how do i know if my lawn is long enough to mow?

It should be at least 2 inches high. If you cut it shorter than that it might burn out. If it gets higher than 3 inches it might mat and, if it gets too wet, get fungus.

Determine the height your mower cuts at. Do not cut more than 1/3 of the grass off. If your mower cuts at 2", cut the grass when it is at 3" or slightly higher.
