Such negative impressions of school. Sheesh. It's not that bad guys, unless you're looking to spray paint the main hallway and install a skate park in the gym.
Children have limited rights up to a certain age determined by their state. After that age they are given more rights until they turn 18.
After 18, you have all the rights of a US citizen. Provided that you don't want to drink alcohol.
For instance, the age of consent in Connecticut is 16. At this point you are no longer regarded as a juvenile by the legal system and can go to 'big boy' prison. You can, barring some exceptions, also drop out of school and refuse services by the Department of Children and Families.
You cannot, however, sign a contract. So you can't rent an apartment or buy a car.
So the real question is, what rights are you wondering about and what is the situation?

No they do not. From the moment they enter the school, their rights are revoked. Schools are dictatorships with the administrators having the iron fists. They may not act like it all the time, but when it comes down to it they can and most likely will if they deem it necessary.
