Not in the material sense !!

We didn't get much of anything we WANTED... you worked, earned 50 cents an hour and bought it yourself !! I bought my own baseball glove, my little brother and I saved to buy a model railroad kit, and I installed a 2nd phone-line when I was 16 yrs old.

We WERE spoiled with affection, discipline, and education:

We got to travel with our folks twice to Europe, we went skiing often, we back-packed every summer. We all completed our degrees, all have Masters, and I finished my Doctorate

MISS YOU Mom & Dad !!

With our budget they spoiled my two brothers and I as much as they could, and with what they could afford. I'm happy though. My mom was there most of the time. She didn't work so we got spoiled the correct way, not the way of some kids today who just get paid to be someone's child that doesn't give a crap about them anyhow.

They did spoil me, but i definently don't get spoiled as much as my little brother, he gets away with EVERYTHING. I don't expect to get spoiled now, because ever since i got a job i've had to pay for everything myself. It was nice though, in the past

My did spoiled me til around age 10, then for years he did this psychological abuse thing of giving me nothing (no affection, attention or gifts), then suddenly he would flood me with gifts.

Made me associate gfts with love and I only felt loved when getting gifts or money.

As much as I hate to say it it has carried over in life that I expect to get what I want.

I'm Trying to get better. I'm 37 now. No kids yet, but I will give my child love and attention not gifts and money.

Spoiling a child def causes problems later in life.

Yes and Yes.
I'm laid off collecting unemployment. I went to the Veteran's Administration and asked them to pay Aprils rent and gas. They did.
I went to welfare and got $130 in food stamps.
I went back in May to ask if the VA would pay my rent and gas again.
They declined so I appealed. I talked them into paying the two bills for May.
And I'm still getting unemployment and food stamps.
I also expect to hit a small amount of money on the lottery soon as I usually hit something when I get laid off. (Even God spoils me.)
The last time I got laid off, I won $5,000 by playing 513 $1 straight ten separate times ($500 tickets are tax free and I had ten separate ones). I could still collect unemployment because lottery winnings are exempt, especially when you don't have to claim them on your taxes.

I was a spoiled child, I was an only child at that. I don't expect to get everything now...Im an adult and I can do things for myself...Though it's fun to take them out for meals and presents, give back to my folks! I don't get to do it much....or as often as Id like....but it's still fun.

No. I had to work for everything I got and even when I worked hard for stuff I still didn't get it. I ended up getting a job to get things I wanted and I am like that to this day. I don't depend on anyone for anything.

Nope No spoiling here..... I even had to pay for my own collage, and living expences.. And my own wedding as well..
I had a mom who was me , myself and I type of person.
I had to ask my dad for money for bras and underware, when my mom was going out to a boutique and spending $120 on 1 bra and pantie set thats how bad it was. We are talking about in the late 80's......
I wish they spoiled me a little.......
