No, no, and NO!
He's looking to score a huge account here. Wearing jeans screams "I am not professional nor do I take this seriously."
Have him wear a nice suit with a tie looking 100 percent professional and ready to seal the deal. First impressions DO count and a potential new account could toss him right out the window (figuratively speaking) for not looking the part.

i would normally say no it is not appropriate to wear jeans to an interview. period. However, this would also depend on the account. I would recommend dressing up a bit more with chinos or something just to be safe. He is the owner of the company and needs to set a professional example that he means business. Unless of course he knows this potential account very well, and knows that jeans fit it, I wouldn't risk it.

I'd say NO. Go with khakis or something more dress casual with a sport jacket. Dress to impress and since we don't get a second chance at a first impression, would he really want to take the risk of losing an account because his client thought he looked TOO casual.

It is inapproriate. I don't care if you're interviewing for slopping a hog, always dress your best. I'm guessing your boyfriend, as the owner of a company, has better clothes to wear than a pair of jeans and his client would know that....how disrespectful.

Unless the client is Levi's (and even then I'd resist) he should go with a more professional look. He wants to show that he takes the interview seriously and that he wants to show them respect by looking professional. He should wear a dark suit and a tie with polished shoes.

I think your boyfriend needs to grow up and dress like an adult... what is it, a few hours out of his life that he needs to look professionally for?
Jeans are NEVER appropriate for an interview, unless you are working retail at the mall or something.
