Patrick, I agree...how much of the response to Bush's troop surge was due to him announcing that strategy?

well, the worse that can happen to your freedom of speech is that you might be called 'the enemy' for speaking out against the president. But you can get through it, the rest of us for the past 6 years have...

Probably. I wouldn't personally. The liberals haven't respected the office since Geroge Bush has been in office.

The reality is that everybody sees their point as right...I am not saying that we should compromise this, but it would be more helpful if we could open lines of communication and not use name calling...If you think that Congress is slow now can you imagine if every person in the US had to give their opinion before a decision was made?
Absolutely i would respect the office...I'm sure that i would not agree and I hope that I will still have the right to do that...

Yes. Not only that, if she wins I will have to HOPE that her presidency will be good for the country, as I have done with the Democratic-controlled House and Senate now. I will criticize vigorously, but not wish harm on the country just to prove I'm right.
My personal opinion is that the Democrats' program is bad for the country. but if they win I have to hope I'm wrong.
Also, when people overplay their hand in attacking, it usually gets me to rally around the embattled leader. Happened with Clinton; happened with Bush. When their worst critics are so vicious, it makes me think they are doing something right!
I will NEVER use the term "Hitlery," although I really, really think she would be absolutely awful for the country.
Is my halo blinding everyone? :)

I will unless she gives me a reason not to respect her. I won't treat her as the liberal democrats have treated our current president. I don't feel it is in the best interest of our country to bad mouth our Presidents we may disagree with the president but i don't feel the bashing does any good. It didn't help with Bill Clinton and it hasn't helped with George Bush. It just shows a lack of class and embarrasses us as a Nation in front of other Country's

I didn't like Bill Clinton but I respected the office of the President. My husband who is also a Republican joined the military under Clinton with the full knowledge that Clinton was his commander in chief. He didn't have to like him but he respected him.
You will never hear me ask for the death of any President. You will never hear me wish for harm of any President.

I think most do – they don’t say bush – they say President Bush – then talk bad about him. I despise President Clinton but always refer to him as President Clinton. You deserve respect if you are in the office – as the office holder but not as a derelict person.
We citizens don't need to know every detail of every military operation in this new kind of war. Nor should the media tell us and hence our enemy. – COL David Hackworth

We will as long as the president does. Most liberals don't understand that it is Clinton's on *personal conduct* (Oral sex in the oval office? How is that respectful? HELLO??!! ) that earns the disdain of conservatives.

We should always respect at least the office even if we don't agree with whoever the President is. They deserve the support of the American people.

Thankfully she will never win, so it is a non-issue. She doesn't respect the Office of the President or our Troops but I will en light of that.
