Yes.

I grew up in a family that supports the Democrats.

I was in college in the 1960s. While I was watching a local news program. They were interviewing some woman who was demonstrating for an increase in her welfare benefits. She claimed it was her right to receive more taxpayer money.

At that moment I realized how crazy welfare was and that the D's (mostly) agreed with her. That how I became a Rep.

I'm still a Rep. However, I'm tired of the 'compassionate' trend as pushed by '43'.

It's not the government's role to put a roof over you head and food on your table. It's your responsibility. If I choose to help people in need (and I do) that wonderful. However, I shouldn't be forced to help by having my income confiscated to help some ne'er-do-well.
