American Idol?

Question

Anyone else angry about the results of last night's show? I loved Melinda Doolittle and she deserved to win. She was so humble, and she had the best vocals. I have been rooting for her since they started with the top 20.

I do not agree that Melinda sounded gospel at all. She didn't sing one single gospel song, and she didn't change anything that she did sing to make it sound gospel.

I did vote every week at least 50 times for Melinda and Melinda only, so I have room to complain.

They should have more than one contest and it should be according to age groups.

I have said from go that is a fix and thats ok because it sells.
The reality of it is that u dont have to win the show to get signed ...look who Ai is using this years going home song NOT taylor's but Chris' the talented person that was voted off at 4 last year (Who is now the number one selling rock alternative male recording EVER). As a matter of fact I have seen 6 of the top tens albums (from last year)on the shelves at music stores.
So for those of u that are mad about ur person not winning that's OK.
Going back to the top 8 (minus Sanjaya) they all will cut albums and all do good for themselves.
And AI has a horriable terms for ther contract so it better if she gets signed elsewhere.

No. I think she fell victim to the 'she's so good syndrome'. Everyone knew she was the best by a long way and so assumed she would get into the final. As a result, they voted for their second favorite to get them through. And Melinda lost too many votes that way. It's happened before.

On singing talent, she is a different league to anyone else on this year. I probably won't watch the final as the winner will not be the best singer. Melinda has gone.

i don't think she should have been voted off. The girl had great vocals and proved it week after week.
Like Simon said, she was the most consistent one.
Whether she looked old school or not, it's not a search for the next beauty pageant. For crying out loud, it's a singing competition, and from day 1 she proved nothing but that.

They need to change the voting system and stop letting America vote bc clearly they are voting for beauty over talent. Which is sad and pathetic. That's why a lot of people don't audition for these type of shows because they know they will get shot down by America.

I wish her all the best and in my book she was the best singer this season without a doubt and she will perservare.

Melinda by far had the best voice but every show the final two seem to be one guy and one girl. Jordin is amazing for a 17 year old but she has the "look". Blake won't be taking home the prize.

They do something like this every year to boost ratings, though it normally does the opposite. Like last year when Chris Daughtry left, everyone expected him to go a lot further.

Yes it was sad to see her go I agree. I LOVE her voice and no doubt that girl will go far with her status. Hopefully she will release an album because I will sure get it. From the beginning that girl had no flaws but stupid people out there are voting obviously for looks or for whatever reason but hey I was happy about the top 3 as long as Sanjaya was NOT up there! Melinda will SHINE more

MELINDA IS THE BEST SHE DESERVED A SPOT IN THE FINALE. Im SO DONE WITH AMERICAN IDOL. America watches that show with their heads stuck up their a.sses obviously. Melinda IS the American Idol to me. I dont give a hell about Blake who didn't even deserve to be in the top 4, let alone the top 2! Ugggh...i'm disgusted.
