Hell no, i don't think she should have been voted off. The girl had great vocals and proved it week after week.
Like Simon said, she was the most consistent one.
Whether she looked old school or not, it's not a search for the next beauty pageant. For crying out loud, it's a singing competition, and from day 1 she proved nothing but that.
They need to change the voting system and stop letting America vote bc clearly they are voting for beauty over talent. Which is sad and pathetic. That's why a lot of people don't audition for these type of shows because they know they will get shot down by America.
I wish her all the best and in my book she was the best singer this season without a doubt and she will perservare.

No. I think she fell victim to the 'she's so good syndrome'. Everyone knew she was the best by a long way and so assumed she would get into the final. As a result, they voted for their second favorite to get them through. And Melinda lost too many votes that way. It's happened before.
On singing talent, she is a different league to anyone else on this year. I probably won't watch the final as the winner will not be the best singer. Melinda has gone.

American Idol has turned into a contest based on who can relate to teenagers better, and apparantly because of his looks and "talent" Blake got through and Melinda didnt.
Melinda could actually sing without bad gimmicks, thats the problem.
Blake uses the same monotonous style every time. Bad beatboxing, crappy vocals. His attitude is "Let me give a blank stare into the camera at the 15 year old on the other side of the TV screen and they'll vote for me 5000 times." His beatboxing is UNORIGINAL. As I've said before, for original beatboxing, read up on Rahzel.

Yes! I celebrated big time last night. Before anybody says anything, it's not because of the way she looks. That's irrelevant. I just found her performances really boring and predictable. She's too polished and has already had lots of industry experience. I would not buy her CD.
I've wanted Blake and Jordin to be the final 2 for a long time now, so I'm so excited. They're both going to have great post-Idol careers regardless of who takes home the American Idol title. I vote for the people whose CDs I would buy. I will be lining up to buy both of theirs.

The producers cut her since she has a funny look. How can you market a singing shrek? Her head is too big for her body. This may seem superficial, but the American public isn't known for its empathy.

It was ridiculous for her to get sent home, but she'll be OK...Look at Chris Daughtry's career compared to the "winner" Taylor Hicks and you'll see what I mean.

No I don't. I believe Blake should have gotten the boot.
However, since I didn't vote at all I guess I can't complain right?

Actually, I was quite happy that she got the boot! She was so FREAKIN boring. Wow...all of her songs were super old, and just BORING!! I would not pay to sit and see her live. I would pay to see Blake...and no, I'm not a little teeny-bopper...he is just far more entertaining :)

yeah. for me she was a snooze. if she had been the winner, i think her album would have done like taylor and reuben. she's just too old and the people most into the show are younger, imho.
