We are currently in the process of recovering our bank charges and Robertson Holbrook of Cardiff are handling the matter. However, in our dealings with them, we have noticed they don't respond to e-mails, they seldom answer the phone, and when they do, they say they'll call you back, which they never do. Our claim has passed the 120 day limit, and we are still none the wiser about our progress. We are just wondering if there are any genuine success stories, where money has actually been recovered by Robertson Holbrook, and if anybody has any complaints about them.

While I can't claim success, I'm also using the services of "Robertson Holbrook" and despite the lengthy resolution time, I did receive a letter from the bank last week stating my dispute would be resolved within 4 weeks. {115 days since my first E-mail from Holbrook informing me the process had begun}

You have to remember the reason why Holbrook do not offer great customer service is because they are operating on a shoe string budget. By keeping costs down, they are able to only take their profit from the interest accrued, rather than a percentage of your actual charges.

Another reason for the increased time must have something to do with their names being mentioned on "Money Saving Expert". Plus the fact that of all those agencies listed for convenience, Robertson Holbrook was the only essentially free service; bar the interest of course.

I had my doubts for a while but the recently received letter certainly put my mind at rest.

I wish you all the best in claiming back your "stolen" money.

Most people have discovered to their cost that having some-one else 'manage' their financial affairs only ends up lining the pockets of those they 'employ' ....

Since they are showing no interest in sorting things out I assume you paid them an 'up front' fee ? - if so, they have got (most?) of their money already and why should they bother to work for it ?

Suggest you learn how to do it yourself.

1) Follow the process step by step (see link below)
2) STICK RIGIDLY TO THE TIMESCALES
3) The Banks will delay delay delay ...
They will lie on the phone (and then deny you called) .. they will claim the person you spoke to last time doesn't exist...
they will deny receiving letters .,. and then 'loose' all your documents and demand copies - and then say they can only work from originals - they will send you Cheques (or even put money in your account) for 10% or whatever and then claim you have accepted it in 'full & final settlement' .. and finally they may threaten to close your account ... (this last is real - you need to open a new account in advance 'just in case' they follow through with this threat)

If you stick EXACTLEY to the process (especially write letters, DO NOT PHONE, and send Recorded Delivery), you WILL get ALL your charges back -
