Yes it is possible, but it is not common. Red-green color blindness, the most common form of color blindness, affects only .4 percent of women. The fact that color blindness is so much more prevalent among men is because it is carried on the X chromosome. Men have one X chromosome and women have 2. If a woman has a normal gene on one chromosome it can make up for a defective gene on the other. Men however have only one X so they are SOL if the gene for color is bad on that one.

The chromosome for color blindness is the x chromosome. Since men only have one x chromosome it is much more common in men.
For a woman to be color blind both her x chromosomes would have to carry the recessive trait of color blindness, which means her father would also have to be color blind, and her mother a carrier.

Anything is possible, but studies show men are more likely to be color blind. A very well known actor/race car driver is color blind.

yes, with a colourblind father and a carrier mother, the daughter can be colour blind.
however, chances are slimmer as compared to men. as men only need one recessive X chromosome but women needs 2 of them.
having Xx only makes a woman a carrier.

Yes. For a woman to have red-green colorblindness, she must have the recessive allele on each of her two X-chromosomes. This is possible if her father is colorblind and her mother has at least one allele for colorblindness.
Males are much more likely to have colorblindness because they only have one X-chromosome and only have to get one copy of the recessive allele.

Yes. The father would have to be colorblind, and the mother would have to be a carrier -- have the defective allele(s) on at least one of her X chromosomes.
