So my husband and I have no idea what we would name our child if it turns out to be a boy. Our last name is Yabut (pronounced Ya-boot). Girls we figure we're ok, but with boy names we need something sudo-masculine. My husband likes the name "Roman" but I can see the kids making fun of our child "hhahah Rome-in-ya-butt!" Eh I dunno.

By the way the girls names we have picked are:
Evelyn Rose and Helena Lynn

It is Filipino last name. My husband is 1/2 Filipino on his father's side. His mother is Irish and we though about taking his mother's maiden name which is McGee, but an Asian with the last name McGee would be funny. Especially since my husband's first name is Dan (Danilo)

Pick masculine names for the boy like Robert, James, Charles, or John.

I've heard worse. Like Kuntz for last name. Eek.

Roman is bad. I think you need a really solid first name to offset that last name.

Charles Joshua Yabut
Elliot Michael Yabut
Kurt Daniel Yabut

I would stay with a simple and strong name
Luke Thomas Yabut
Mycah Aaron Yabut
Aaron David Yabut
Ethan Michael Yabut
Evan Weston Yabut
Weston (Wes) Yabut
Harrison Ethan Yabut
Best wishes

There are soooo many worse last names, I dont even want to list them here so I dont hurt anyone's feelings, but seriously, if you are worried about this, you are wasting your time obsessing on things that dont matter when you could be thinking about something that matters. Try thinking how you could make yourself a better person, or the world a better place.

I really like the name Roman, it is a name i even considered as a boys name! Anyways, i can understand and I am happy you do take your childs future into consideration with names.. How about you give him a middle name, or a double name as you did with your girl names? Such as Roman Alexander Yaboot? then he has the choice of being called alex or roman.

I think you should all change your last name. Make up a new one. How about Daniloson or just Danson? What is your maiden name? Can is be combined in some way with "Ya-" to make a new name?

Good luck! :)

Nah, i think that last name is pretty.
But it does sound kind of foreign, therefore, i think a more foreign name is called for, like Vladamir (Russian, pronounce [VLA-da-mere), or Saafir (African i think, pronounce [saw-FEAR]), or Jesus (Mexican, pronounced [HAY-zoos]), Samer (Italian, i think, pronounced [SAM-mer]).
I, myself, think that Vladamir Yabut for a boy sound pretty. You're last name sound Ukrainian or Russian or from somewhere around those areas so i think you should try looking at Russian names. I love the way they ring, but that's just me.

As for the girl name, i like Helena Lynn better myself, but it's your kid, not mine, name him/her whatever you decide =)
If she was my kid, i'd name her Kashmir Yabut, but she's not my kid so............ yeah!
Congratulations! Live Long and Prosper!

Xander or Zander is a very masculine name. I think it sounds good with Yabut.

Xander Braden Yabut

You know what's funny? "Yabut" means something bad in another language... it means "they who F***" I'm sorry but its true, and its pronounced exactly the same! But in US most people wouldn't know that... so don't worry :)
I like your girls' names, very sweet.
