Try Zone Alarm!
I previously had Windows 2K - its very good, built on the exact same architecture as Win XP. I would advise getting XP anyway for the improvements and firewall

the final anti-virus is Kaspersky or Norton yet they do no longer seem to be loose. Kaspersky does furnish a loose online test notwithstanding it does not do away with what it reveals. 2d ultimate loose are Avast and AVG and others. The Microsoft firewall that comes loose with XP and Vista is amazingly stable yet regrettably delivers no visibility. in case you desire visibility, try the loose Zone Alarm. Zone Alarm is rather stable notwithstanding that is puzzling for me to declare that's the final. the final firewalls are no longer loose. you have phishing filters in Firefox 3 and IE 7 and IE 8 (clever demonstrate screen filter out) and AVG. that is strictly a query of ways many times the phishing filter out database gets as much as date with precise counsel. that is hard to declare that's ultimate.
