In the country(side),in cornwall, love the greenery/scenery.Lived in london until 1994,been here since then,no comparison.More pay in city, more crime, more problems. Can drive 50 miles here in an hour , would spend that time sitting in traffic in london. It gets busy here summertime and visitors flood down and clog the roads looking at cows n sheep as if they've never seen them, but a little patience goes a long way when behind them.I worked on a local farm here once,a while back, and was helping get the cows across the wide lane (b Road) and held up the traffic dressed in overalls, when we had finished, the first car in the line opened his window, his wife in the passengerside and teenaged kids in the back (looking at me as if i was some village idiot) the man asked very slowly and deliberately if i knew where a certain hotel was,(so as slowly and as cornish as i could)oooarrh sayz i,yoo, donts wannaz bee ons thiz-ere row-d,yaz shud, bees eddin toth-er ways, see that therswhite owse,thar-t thair owse , twaz Mables owse yarnose,(faraway look in me eyes) she uwesd ta keeps gowts, bigs gowts an litluns,(stare right through the car)yars pigmy gowts theyz cawlled(look back at bloke),tanywayz, yarz shud bees eddin thattawayze(the teens were pullin faces at me ,the man and his wife looked anxiously at the traffic building up slowly behind and were trying to dismiss me politely by repeatedly thanking me) ( i carried on) Wens yaz gows downs thart thair laynze,yars-ll wana bees veree carefulls, Fors Mable alsee keeps doorggs(farawaylook again),and thayt thair doorggs theys ate carrz, dow'nt be gettinn outs thair will yee ,(all were shifting about uncomfortly in their respective seats, the teenage lad seemed mesmerised by it all and his sister looked as if she had a bad smell under her nose)(on i went)weels ifye gows downs thart therez trakz awayz, atll bee sayvin yers a goowd fives of yars minarts (all looked incredulous and his wife was still thanking me when i finished off with) Tiz alls worfz usz lowkals ta shows ee tha shorttas rowds ta saves ya abitto timez! (3 days later in a little pub in the town )They were at the bar ordering food and drinks and i happened upon them. All right i said with my real Cockney accent, you all got ere ok then!,come by Mables did you? Big smiles all round as they recognised my face and it dawned on them they'd been had.Hope you liked this annecdote.S.J.W.H.

In the city, although I wished I lived in the country. Getting tired of city life and living on top of each other.
