The top speed of a housefly is 4 miles per hour. Some say 10 miles per hour but I think it s false.

Horseflies likely are faster than houseflies explaining the difference in previous two answers.

The 14mph sounds about right. My horse can gallop faster than a horse fly can fly, but trotting isn't fast enough to get away.
