I assume you mean (3x + 2)²
FOIL
(3x + 2)(3x + 2) =
9x² + 6x + 6x + 4 =
9x² + 12x + 4

(3X+2)(3x+2) you have to multiply them together the answer should be 9X^2 +6X+6x+4 which is actually 9x^2+12X+4 . Hope I was helpful and by the way ^2 this means to the second power (squared)

Unless you have an actual exuation, you cannot solve, you can only factor
If you had the equation (3x+2)^2=0 then the answer would be
-2/3

the FOIL method (First, Outside, Inside, Last)
in your case the function is (3x+2)(3x+2)
multiply the first of the two ( your case 3x times 3x)
then the outside two (3x times two)
then the inside two (2 times 3x)
then the last two (2 times 2)
to get 9x^2 + 6x +6x +4

multiply it out:
(3x+2)² =
(3x+2)(3x+2) =
3x(3x+2) + 2(3x+2) =
9x² + 6x + 6x + 4 =
9x² + 12x + 4

this means 3 x something.
after that answer, add 2
now the square means to multiply that answer by itself 2 times.
ex.- 9 squared (9x9)= 81 i hope that helps!
