The Aztec were a great nation of warriors and scholars they had cities all over central America but there capital was on an island in a vast lake in present day Mexico city where they practiced human sacrifice and pedestry. the Aztec left their island capital when it sank prior to the Spanish invasion

They sacrificed humans by cutting out the heart of the live "victim" (although it was actually a great honour).
They played a game like basketball.
