Why do some men sell themselves out to please women?

Question

example: WHY is there a wage GAP between men and women?
Despite what anti feminists claim, that this is illegal and it cannot possibly be happening, we have rampant examples of it happening ALL the time. Especially by misogynists who can't stand the fact that women may have some advantages in society to raise their families. No wonder there is such a high level of poverty among women and children when you have people with this selfish mentality

It makes me laugh that some of us have been so brainwashed we actually believe this rubbish.

At the end of the day, be a man, we love women, but you dont have to suck up to them to be a decent bloke.

Id like to hear your views on why some men on this site suck up to the feminists, perhaps some sort of freudian mother pleasing thing??

the wage gap between married + kids and non maried without kids is down to the fact that women with kids usually get a little local job to help out, or cannot commit to their career totaly, are you suggesting we pay people with kids at wallmart £60,000 p/a just because they have kids. I agree their should be more money from the state for working mums, but the sad fact is, in the UK anyway, that many woman become "proffesional" mums, and have loads of kids just to get extra benefits, oh, and 30% of the fathers money for the next 20 years - I had a lucky escape with one of these when I was younger, thank god I used condoms!

Im all for equality sweetheart, I have a long term girlfriend, and Im shagging 4 or 5 women on the side as well, they love it!!

wedjp - If you could read between the lines you'd probably notice i was saying that to wind people up, but obviously this British sarcastic humour was way over the head of your primitive US humour!! Would be good if you could share whether you circumcise your daughters (as is true of many muslims in this country) thus preventing them from having any pleasure from sex, and making them unable to find men for their own desire, just property to be wed. Also, because in the developed world we have CONDOMS we dont have to be forced into shotgun weddings, so our belief systems can evolve from something beyond the 14th century totalitaianism you see under Shariah law. Yous said you are a white muslim, thats fine, but could you find me a muslim women who would be allowed to mary an infidel through her own choice - NO - because a/she would be disowned by her family and b/ the family would probably murder the poor infidel in an "honour" killing.

Well, my husband was raised by a single mom, which perhaps puts him in a better place to judge just how "easy" it is to be a mother in our society. The wage gap these days is fairly small when comparing all men to childless women. The gap between women with and without children is three times as big.

Society expects women to raise perfectly healthy, well-adjusted young people at our own expense, and with no social security benefits or even much respect for it. We are literally contributing the workers who will be paying my generation's social security, and for that we get a big fat zero at the end of the year for our own social security. Any logical person should question this - the American economy is partly dependant on the volunteer labor of mainly women.

My husband is just a respectful person, married to another respectful person. He doesn't "suck up" to me - although he respects me - because he's well aware that we could trade places any second, and I would be the one working for pay and he would be at home with the kids. There's nothing magical or mysterious or back-breaking about working outside the home - I've done it. The gig is up, guys. Lets all have a little healthy respect for the contributions of ALL people, not just the men.

i just read your whole rant there. i live in america, i am white, and i am a muslim. one point i would like to point out is women and men are NOT equal. when you say you are all for equality i find it ironic considering everyone knows no matter what beleif system you follow that society never treats women and men the same. even rigth here in america the supposed land of oppurtunity. women still make less money then men and there are like 4 times more women in this country then men. when you say that feminists have ruined things i would have to agree with you to a point. since te femenist movement men no longer take responsibility for their wives and children. in the old days there would be hell to pay if a man such as yourself were to "shag" 4 woman and mistakingly impregnate one of them. you would have been forced into what we call a shot gun wedding. the family moral has been almost abolished since the femenist movement. women now days have no one to blame but themselves for the hardships they face on a daily basis with men not commiting to them. i believe that spreading your legs in the first place before a marriage with a man who actually fullfills his responsibilities is what has lead to the way things are the way they are now. a decent man is an honest man. there are decent men who display all sorts of beliefs. weather they are jew, christian, hindu, muslim, etc...... the problem is the women are not guarding their chaste. they are not maticulous when choosing a partner. the bottom line is and i say this for everyone man or woman, even hemaphrodites. if you choose to make a bed then you lie in it. when you say why does a man have to suck up to a woman for a woman to like him i disagree. men who are "fake" they end up being the scumbags in the end. women should know better what they get themselves into before they go and destroy their lives. besides what should you really care. when you think about it if some one is going to knock down what ever you have to say with total disrguard for what ever point you happen to bring to the table no matter how valid they might be, why should you waste your time with them? being a muslim and a white woman i face that daily, ignorance is bliss let people live in it!

You are just so angry that you can't accept the fact that some men actually believe in equality and are not afraid to lose power and dominance in order to achieve that. All you ever do is rant so I really don't understand what the point is for posting questions in Women's Studies. The only reason you post here is to troll and inflame others. I don't consider treating my wife with love and respect sucking up to her. I do things for her because it makes me feel good to see her happy. I am an old fashioned guy who still believes that men should take care of their women and treat them with dignity and respect.

1) They were raised that way from birth. Probably raised by their mom who told them their daddy was an evil man.
