Swinging strikeouts obviously have the KKK more pronounced, but even with a called third strike backwards K, the effect is the same I think.

This isn't racist at all. You have to understand the context of which this subject is being referenced to. This is baseball, ask any pitcher if they ever think of this and a unanimous response will be "no". They will look up there and be proud of the three strikeouts. We need to put to rest so much scrutiny of racism. There are to many people out there that are over sensitive. Sometimes this is called for due to the lack of respect one person portrays to another. We just need to treat everyone how we would want to be treated and understand that not one person is better then anyone else.

Umm no not at all. Its not intended to be racist...and if you know anything about baseball the letter "K" represents a strikeout. The fans put up one K when the pitcher strikes one person out, then when they strike another person out they put another K up and the same with when they strike out the last batter. GO YANKEES!!!

K means strikeout. What if the 6th batter in the lineup strikes out 3 times in a game and he's the only one that has strike outs? Then, it would probably look like 666.

if we are going to take this as being racist I guess the next thing we are going to see is the fan putting the signs up being sued for being racist. Then the court system that we have to live with will allow that person one million dollars because the fan offended them. Even though the fan was just out having a good time at a game and some dumb *** took it out of context.

I'm sure you're kidding, but the first time I ever saw this was with Gooden (I'm pretty sure the practice started with him), I didn't know what was going on up there, and yes, he had three K's at the time I saw it for the first time. I couldn't imagine why NY fans were doing that to an African American pitcher until the broadcasters explained the K-Corner.

Of course it is not racist! That is irrational thinking. It is unfortunate that the letter 'K' is initials for a racist group of bonzos running around in white robes and pointy hoods. The 'K' is perfect to represent a STRIKE OUT in a baseball game. That is what it is intended for, not to promote racism. Your middle finger was not intended to throw people crazy, should you cut that off simply because society has made it a profane slur?

Errr, no. Either that or hope they stop at 2 or get a fourth.

I'm can't tell if you already know, but the symbol used to record a strikeout in the scorebook is "K".

O.K., even though the KKK ususally stands for racism, when placed in that context it is NOT racist, it's simply recording strikeouts.

No, its not racist. Calling someone a name, or judging them by their color or nationality is racist. Putting up strikeout signs is harmless, and does not intend to be interpreted as Ku Klux Klan, just 3 strikeouts. You are obviously an idiot, man. Just turn off your computer and shut up, please.
