I'm in southern California and have a bed that's next to the house with poor drainage, therefore its quite boggy. What plants should I place there?

Depends on the exposure. If it's sunny, try Japanese Iris. I grow them in my pond so wetness is not an issue. If it's straight shade, try some ferns or something called fairy lily.

I have no idea what you can plant in a boggy area, but with that question worded the way you did, I hate to tell ya but you left yourself wide open on that one.

Ferns and Decorative Moss, They will absorb a lot of the moisture, and give you a Rainforest look outside. Its pretty cheap, and can be found in or ordered by most greenhouse or plant sales location. good luck

I had the same problem. I planted golden moneywort (Lysimachia nummularia "Aurea") . The color is very pretty and it loves water.
