South Park, Simpsons, King of the Hill, etc. These are for adults, not kids.
The American Academy of Pediatrics estimates that children in the United States watch about four hours of television every day. They recommend that children under age 2 should not watch any and older children should watch no more than 2 hours a day of quality programming.
Marketers have convinced many parents that baby-oriented TV and DVD programs offer educational benefits. Meanwhile, research studies have suggested that excessive TV viewing can lead to attention and learning problems down the road.
Thus, it doesn't really matter what they watch on TV. It is all bad for them.

In terms of programming that is actually meant for children (not south park, simpsons, etc), I'd say anything that follows its own marketing line entirely too closely, anything based around kids doing things that are just unbelievably stupid, or where kids act out in a manner that is really obnoxious.
Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh ding high on all three of those. The kids mostly do things based on what one would do with the cards or the games, they make poor choices, and are generally really loud, pushy, and annoying. Don't buy into the whole 'power of friendship' carp that the networks claim the series are based around.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I'd put Legion of Superheroes. Here you have some outstanding role-models. They may eventually make toys based on the series, but they aren't going to be seen playing with them in the show itself. The Legion members do real work and don't measure their accomplishments based on some phony-baloney game.

South Park! It's horrible and some people think that just because it's a cartoon it's for kids. NOT SO! Also on Cartoon Network there is a series of bad programs called "adult swim"...not for kids. It is on at night but my kid doesn't go to bed early due to all our work schedules. Also if a child is sick at night and you happen to try to let them watch a little tv- you better be careful what the cartoon is! I ALWAYS watch a show before my child does. I've done this since he was a toddler. He's 7 now and he is very respectful as to what is watched on the tube. He also tells other kids that smart kids don't watch "trash tv" like that. (even my bratty nephew quit watching it because he wants to be cool).
Good programming will stimulate the mind at an age appropriate level. (pbs) is a good one for toddlers-5/6...then it gets a little harder.

Southpark is by for the worst. Great show though.
Other cartoons written for adults, not children;
anything late night on Cartoon Network - That is why they call it adult swim
Family Guy
Futurama
American Dad
I would say the Simpsons in borderline depending on the kids ages.

*South Park
*Those Anime cartoons (they are violent and have sexual references and what not.)
~I think there are a lot of cartoons that use subliminal messages in them also. I mean if you've ever watched Simpsons, King of the Hill, SpongeBob...all of them at some point during one of the episodes you will hear or notice things that are done or said...that are more appropriate for "adult ears and eyes" than for childrens.~
.So really probably 99 percent of the cartoons out there are "bad" it's just a matter of personal opinion on what you or anyone else considers "bad".
