someone told me that inuyasha is having another season sometime next summer or something. is this only a rumor? i guess it is since all the rumors on animes have in fact only been rumors. i don't think they are going to finish the series.

but i have speculation.

this link is telling us that there may be a second run of the series. also they may consider it after the manga is completely finished. i know they ended at 167 eps because they didn't want to make more possible filler eps. fillers are eps that don't revolve around the main plot. they are episodes that neccesarily are not seen in the manga. for those of you who didn't know that.

anyway this is on my mind for months now and wondering if any other info about it is out there. i killed a lot of time searching for a truth. i don't live in japan so they get info way before we do and maybe they have already started a new run already. i don't know

The Inuyasha anime was supposed to be finished at episode 167. However, the manga continued on from there and continues on today. The reason why they canceled the show wasn't because they got tired of it but because the ratings of the show plummeted. They lost a lot of their target demographic after doing fillers. The die-hard fans decided to forgo the anime and go for the manga.

There is talk that they may give it a second go. They may do so after giving the manga time to give them more to work with. A lot of animes based on mangas stumble on themselves and eventually they fail because they get so far ahead of the mangas (like Hellsing). The Inuyasha universe is a strong franchise and I'm sure they'll bring it back in time. They just have to give the fans a story worth watching, not an anime that's so full of filler and other material that it lacks any sustanance.

I missed the last few epi on Cartoon Network, so I had to dwnload it myself. At the end of the 167th epi, they (this was the Japanese version) advertised for a 5th movie (Crimson Hourai Island). I checked and this title didn't match the other four movies. I think that's supposed to finish the series, but don't bother trying to dwnload it. No torrent has it and none of my main sites has it (or it with a working downloading port). The movie DOES exist (or it will) in Japan, though. I think it's coming out over there in December. That's all I know. It would be nice to finist the series, though (w/o all the rediculous filler). I don't read manga at all, so I don't know how far the manga got. Hoped this helped.

I think that this rumor is true. After they ended the series in Japan, fans wanted to see more. So I think that the original creator of the manga has been working on a final season for the anime. It is a lot like when the producers of FOX ended the X Files series. They brought it back after they had complaints from the fans that wanted to see more.

Who knows what will happen? I will just point out that there is no new episodes in Japan at the moment, nor is there any 'official' word or indication at all that there are more episodes being planned. Any rumors are just speculation by fans. =)
