86 of the 100 state reps in my state are Democrats.
everyone is a great neighbor down here
but it has nothing to do with political party.. good people are good people.. even if they think a little differently on politics than you.. and to be honest.. trying to classify them as your question has is what I believe to be one of the largest problems our nation has.. We've got to get over ourselves and stop trying to nit pick at every little insignificant detail or we'll tare this nation apart and have no one to blame but ourselves.

What would be better for our country and our well being is to make that decision a personal one only as in you live your life and I'll live mine and nobody tries to enslave others to their ideas by manipulating government control .What we should do to government now is to say go home you idiots you have spent all the money take a vacation we don't need you finding new projects to give money to because there is none. Every day I hear of new projects to spend money on they just don't get it or don't care. Congress we the people don't need you . You are the problem. It seems the democrats are bent on completing all of there goals while they have the chance even if it destroys our country. We the people have outgrown this type leadership it is time for us to fire these people and undo all the damage they have done and take away the ability for any future politicians to have this much power ever Again . We the people not some lame *** labeled party.

I don't care to know any of my neighbors. They're the kind of people who would shoot you if you looked at them the wrong way. Most of them sit on their front porches most of the day and they all have pitbulls that walk around without leashes. They throw junk in the street that they expect the city to come and pick it up and sometimes it will fill up the street for weeks or months before it is removed. They drink, they are noisy, the use and deal drugs and it is so bad that the cops don't even care to come around much (two cops were killed in my city in the last year). I believe I am the only good neighbor on my block and all of the other neighbors are sh*t neighbors. I doubt they have any political affiliation and I'm almost certain they don't vote. I live in a secure apartment building and my neighbors are mostly Republicans (I'm a democrat by the way). My Republican, elderly neighbors smoke a lot so that it fills up the hallways of the building with toxic cigarette smoke. I'm always having to run my fan so there's fresh air in my apartment. I guess they're nicer than the sh*tty people on my street but not as nice as democrats. The few old lady democrats in the building are so sweet and friendly that it makes my heart melt. The Republicans are more nasty and obnoxious but they're tolerable to a degree. I hope this answers your question. I'm planning on moving to a place with a lot more dems and therefore more wealth, better behaved and more sophisticated and intellectual people. I'm tired of having to call the police and breathe Republican ignorance all the time.

I know all of the neighbors on my block, only a handful further out. I have a good relationship with them all.
I am a Democrat, a liberal, a Christian and a gay activist.
Politically, I would say my neighborhood leans conservative but it is somewhat of a mix. I do not know the political leanings of all my neighbors because that is hardly important in being good neighbors. If my neighbors read the local news paper then they know my political points of view. But like me, my neighbors do not seem to count politics as a measure of neighborliness. it's a good place to live.

I, personally, don't care what my neighbors political philosophy entails. I know most of my neighbors. Oddly enough, politics is rarely discussed in our conversations.
I live in an awesome small town chartered in 1727 and 70% of it's residents (6,747) are registered Independents. I would rather my family be exposed to people of diverse political and social groups than a closed, like-minded group.
1 - yes, I know everyone who lives within a half mile or so of me.
2 - I am a social liberal/fiscal conservative
3 - neither. There are good people and bad people in both groups.

I am a liberal that lives in a traditionally conservative town although more liberals (oh no) are moving in. I get along great with my neighbors and personally do not care what their political affiliation is because it is none of my business. My main concerns are that everyone is respected, treated with dignity, we watch out for each other, our children are safe and our local government is doing the best for our community. If the subject of politics comes up we engage in a rational discussion and we come to realize that despite party affiliation we are not that far apart.

1) Yes
2) I'm very liberal, in the dictionary-definition sense of the word.
3) I dont think you can generalize based on your neighbors political beliefs or ideas. I grew up in Central PA (a very "Red" area) and most of my neighbors were conservatives, and most of them were great neighbors. The ones across the street though were also very liberal and they were great neighbors also. Again, I dont think you can make generalizations based on that. We're all human beings first, and I think thats what matters to most people, not politics.
And in the end, as long as you respect people and their opinions, theres no reason why you shouldnt get along with them. I disagreed with most of my conservative neighbors with regards to politics, but I'd still shovel their sidewalks in winter and theyd mow my "yard" in summer. Thats what it really comes down to. Treating each other equally and doing to others as you would have them do to you.

I'm a Liberal and I know none of my neighbors....however that's because I live in a big city. It's not really a Liberal/Conservative thing.... it's a rural/suburban vs. urban thing.

1. Yes. I know all my neighbors.
2. I consider myself a Conservative Libertarian. Yes, there is such a thing. I'm a registered Independent. That way I can manipulate the voting system.
3. I have a little of both. I've noticed the Conservatives are more willing to help each other out, and the Liberals pretty much stay to themselves.

You've asked 5 questions and I'll answer the only one that isn't considered "chat" by the hyperactive censors at Yahoo. "Do liberals or conservatives make better neighbors?" Political tendencies have nothing to do with neighborliness.
