Unfortunatly, racism is learned at home...a child's mind is like a sponge as to how their parents react to different people and the comments, slurs and jokes made on behalf of people of other races. This get imprinted on them, as a consequence. This is unfortunate!

Lack of education.
The more you are educated, the less you can hate.
But if they don't know a black person for instance, and know nothing about them, then the black people are outsiders, they're different, and that's where racism comes from. Mind you black people have the extra issue of the media portraying them all as desperate robbers.

Ignorance! The mass media showing what they want to show, the government's influence over people. If we embraced other people's cultures into the melting pot, like we are suppose to be, then there shouldn't be racism.

they don't know any better this is the way they were brought up...and it sucks because this country is not a one race country people from every where come here...hopefully one day it changes and people will learn that we're all just that ....people no diffrent

Fear. People are afraid of things they don't understand. instead of asking people why they do what they do, people would rather make ignorant assumptions.

You can't lump everybody in one group even if they have one major thing in common . All chevys dont have V8's and all racist , straights , gays , whites , blacks are not the same .
