There were many drummers for the Beatles' earlier groups, but their first official drummer was Pete Best. Yes, they were all British. But even though they came from Liverpool, they "grew up" in Hamburg, Germany, where they spent a lot of time performing. Mark David Chapman killed John Lennon because he heard voices in his head saying that it wasn't the real John Lennon, but an imposter.
