I have a window sticker of Gir from Invader Zim that I got at Hottopic& I wanted to put it onthe back of my Dodge Caliber.. I just don;t know if I should put it on the inside of the window or the outside.
The inside worries me because it might hurt the rear defrost window lines &the outside would have the rear wipers going across it.
*It is just a black outline not a full color sticker.

It will last longer on the inside, especially if there are wipers. I guess that the window is not darkened or tinted or else you would not be able to see the sticker from the outside. The sticker will probably not interfere with the defrost lines. The danger is when you remove the sticker in the future. If you scrape it off, you will scrape off the defroster line. I used to tint windows and we had to be careful removing old tint and stickers that covered up defroster lines. They were easy to hurt. We used ammonia to disolve the glue that holds the tint or sticker on so that we can scrub the stuff off with plastic brushes that would not hurt the defrost lines or the glass.

Go to your local hardware store. Buy a quart (or smaller) bottle of Acetone and a razor blade. Get some ruber gloves and some paper towels at the same time. Put on the gloves, use the Acetone on a paper towel, then scrape it off with the Razor. Glass won't be hurt by razor blades. The acetone, in addition to working on the sticker, will dissolve the sticky adhesive on your window. It's about the only thing that works 99 44/100% of the time, otherwise you'll be fighting the gooey mess the adhesive leaves behind. Alcohol, paint thinner, etc, won't work. It's a harsh chemical, but ost glues are DESIGNED that acetone will wipe it out. For the remnants of the glue (there's always some left behind), another paper towel with acetone will remove 95% the first, time, and the remaining 4-5% on the 3rd try. (most of these windshield sticker glues are NASTY!!!) It WILL come off, but it sometimes makes you growl until your window is clear. OK. Now for the warning. IF... you have tint on the inside where the stickers are, it will fubar your tint... so get hold of your local cool auto accessory joynt b4hand to have your damaged area retinted (if this is the case). But... make sure they do it right. I have a TX car I had to have redone twice because the place I went in Oakland CA were idjits. They made right, tho... but don't take a 1/2 a$$ed job. OK? Oh... NEVER let someone put stickers on your wheels. NEVER!!! It's YOUR car, your ride, your "temple"... ;) But the acetone trick... I guarantee... works. If they're ancient (like applied 5+ years ago) you MAY have to take steel wool (I use stainless scruby pads) to it to break the sticker bond after it's cooked to your window. Bt either way, acetone WILL kill 9% of any adhesive. Paint section, Lowes/Home Despot/Ace Hardeare/Your local hardware store, in the PAINT section. Good luck!

As long as you apply it smoothly, it shouldn't be a problem on the outside or inside. The defrosters will automatically shut off when they get too hot... The wipers won't be harmed with the thickness of a sticker... I wouldn't place the sticker in the dead center of the window though.

put it on the outside, the sticker can be replaced very cheap, the defrost not so much
