I'm 22 and have this very rare condition where my body cannot produce estrogen at all on its own and it will not have monthly period on its own(everything else is fine except estrogen).

Anyway I've been on a pill since 18(they had to induce my puberty) which is mainly pregnant mare urine, and they took me off it a month ago to test my estrogen level. I haven't had my period for two months. I went to a new endocronologist and he won't let me start on this new medicine(I'm not on any hormone medicine now) until my period starts. I asked the nurse how many days should I wait before calling the doc that I haven't had my period yet. She said 4 days.

What's the harm that I should start on this new medicine? My body can't produce hormones on its own!! and at the end of May I'm supposed to have my period which I know will never come.

Suggestions?

Talk to your doctor about it. If he is not willing to listen to your concerns, find another doctor. He may be waiting because you are a new patient, and he wants to see how your body acts.

You need a new endocrinologist. Definitely you need to be on some kind of treatment due to your condition. Do not self medicate yourself. Personally, I would go to any of those prestigious and excellent hospitals and ask for a list of endocrinologist. Next, go to www.dpr.state.il.us and do a little research on those doctors in order to pick one. Finally, investigate with your insurance company the level of coverage. In-net doctors are your best choice in o rder to get the most out of your medical insurance benefits.
Not insured? Some of this excellent physicians will take your case for research and will waive their fees. This means a smaller bill to be paid.

You should never start prescription medicine without a doctors consent.

Call up your doctor and get permission before starting medication.

Don't talk to the nurse, talk to the doctor. Be persistent!

Find another doctor who will listen to you or go back to the first one. Do NOT stay with a M.D. with whom you are not comfortable. It is a waste of time and money.

i know i wouldnt be paying my money on someone who isnt listening to me, who doesnt know what there talking about, and who is just in it for the money no other reason. u need to stand up and say HELLO, and go straight for the head person you need to talk to, ive learned if you skip the middle men and go above them things happen and change very quickly ( for the good)

anytime you have questions about your prescription/medicine, talk to your doctor. only he/she can give you the answer. if you are asking your doctor, but not getting any answers or you feel that you're not getting the proper care, it's time to change doctors.
