Is it possible to be pregnant and yet have the pregnancy test showing negative?

Thank you

Yes, while not all the time, it definitely happens. Women usually take it twice, even three times to be sure...especially if you've missed your period

Yes it is possible so if that is the case wait a week or so & then try to take another test & if that one still shows negative then if you want to you can wait a week or so longer & try to test again but if it still says negative then you might have to go to the hospital & get a blood test done to find out for sure because not all pregnancy tests are that good because some don't pick up the pregnancy hormone because it isn't strong enough to be picked up so thats why they say that if you thing that you are pregnant & every test tells you negative then you just might be pregnant but the tests just can't pick up the pregnancy hormone because it is not strong enough to be picked up so go get a pregnancy test done at the hospital by getting your blood taken & tested for the pregnancy hormone.

Oh God yes.... a pregnancy test reads horomones and sometimes in the first few months a test...esp a store bought test, won't show true results... if you have questions... you should go see your doctor, that's the best way to find out for sure. (and if by some chance you have missed your period and are not pregnant... it's a good idea for the doctor to check on you anyway!)

I was 8 months pregnant and still tested negative on the home tests. Doctors don't know why. You may need a blood test to tell.

Yes, both my kids were negative in the pregnancy test...
As sometime the day of the insemination day could be later than what you think and then the hormone levels that you have in your blood are two low to be detected by the test.

Yes. After 16 weeks of pregnancy, HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin, a hormone produced by placenta and used for urine pregnancy test ) production decreases so the test result can be negative.

Yes, especially if you tested too early. Try it again in a couple of weeks. If it's still negative, and no period, see your doctor for a blood test.

Although it's not really common, I do know someone who had two healthy, normal pregnancies and never could get a positive result with urine tests at all.

Ohhh yea it's possible! I failed 4 pregnancy tests and about 3 weeks after my period had passed...I got a positive one! Then I took 3 more-all different brands to make sure I was seeing things....They were all positive. Then I went and scheduled my doctor's appt. They did bloodwork there and yes, I am very pregnant. 6 weeks right now! Due date Jan.9th!
