I'd put him more at 17 or 18 w's. The bullpen will let him down a couple times, and unless Ryan Howard wakes up, the Phils will not consistantly score runs.

Cole Hamels is an absolute stud and will win many games in his career if he can stay healthy. In this day and age there are two main factors if a team is going to have a (20) game winner. The team has to be able to score a lot of runs and get that pitcher (4) or (5) wins on days he gives up runs without his best stuff, and the pitcher just has to be lucky. These days starting pitchers only go six to seven innings per game and many times come out of the game tied or down a run. Even if the team goes on to win he comes out with a no decision. In this day and age you can have a great career and never win (20) games in a season. Cole Hamels looks like the second coming of Tom Glavine to me and should be very good for many years.

To win 20 games in a season, a pitcher and his team need a number of things. The pitcher has to be decent, stays healthy, his team needs to produce runs, and his bullpen has to protect his lead. He has already demonstrated that he can get major league hitters out. The Phillies are an offensive team and will produce runs. Assuming that he remains healthy all season, he definitely has a good chance at 20 wins. Their bullpen is the only reason he may have trouble making it.

I think he can do it. He's already got 6 wins and this is without Ryan Howard hitting well. The one thing you have to look out for is his durability. I don't think he's ever pitched 200 innings at any level of baseball and he has had an injury history in the minors.

No he will get tired of carring the sorryass Phillies. He is a stud though and will flirt with 20 wins. He might get 300 K's though..

He might and he might not but the thing to remember is that this is only his second year and the future looks to be very bright for him.
