they really don't make people slow down enough. Do you agree?

Yes, you can damage your car.
Can rupture shocks/struts and etc.

Also, I do agree.
Maybe installing multiple speed bumps will stop this problem.

Some people have more money than brains and don't care regardless.

if you do it once or twice, most likely you wont see any ill effects.

do it often and you can blow out your struts/shocks. and if you do, from that point forward (until you replace the strut/shock) you will get a 'swimmy' ride whenever you go over bumps.

the reason is that the ability of the shock/strut to dampen the imperfections of the road, has been grossly limited.

the inside of a shock/strut is just a tube with oil on one end, and a valve with some oil on the other. as you drive, the oil is passed thru the valve. the tighter the valve, the slower the vehicle dip and rise - thereby giving you a firm ride.

if that valving becomes damaged, fluid will pass thru much easier. that is what causes the 'swimmy' feeling.

and as per the speed suggested for speed bumps (and similar), i slow down til i am nearly stopped, and then slowly continue forward. most people are just in too much of a rush to slow down enough, and dont care about their vehicle's suspension. most people dont understand their suspension, or what a 'well tuned' suspension should feel like.

YES!
You could blow out tires, Bend rims, Break the steel belts in radial tires, Damage the sidewall of tires, Bottom out suspension parts, Change the alignment angles, Knock off hub caps and wheel weights, Cause light bulbs to blow out, you may even cause things to shake loose (wire connections-exhaust components-steering and suspension parts)

And if you're "lucky" enough to have an old Toyota (I don't know about the newer ones 'cuz I don't care) you can wipe out the dainty little transaxle. My stepson did that hitting a pothole in his.

If you go over them hella fast, then it can mess with the suspension and undercarriage of your car. My neice went over one of those diamonds and got a flat.

i slow down for them, because i know what damage can occur from going over them to fast, you can bust ,shocks and struts and do damage to the front end by not slowing down for them, good luck.

You'll be sorry when you have to pay $500 dollars or more to replace your struts. I do not agree, I can't afford to replace parts from negligence on my part.
