Absolutely, they are obsessed with what they fear in themselves. People who are secure of their sexuality have no reason to be obsessed or fearful.

I doubt if there is a blanket answer for this question. I think that many people have anger issues, and just need someone to direct it toward. Some people are merely trying to elevate themselves over another group of people. (To feel superior) Others are trying to distance themselves. (Due to fear or discomfort) Others are merely trying to put people in "boxes," as with any type of stereotyping, because they do not take the time to get to know people who are different than they are. Either way, the issue lies inside those who are doing the bashing.

I don't know. Are those that say "gay bashers" are really insecure, really insecure themselves? Are they terrified that they may really be straight?
The same logic must apply.

They're just desperately insecure, so emotionally and intellectually small, and ineffectual, they need a group to crap on to feel big.
