It sounds like the drivers for your graphics card have being lost. Find out what graphics card you have and visit the manufacturers website to download the drivers.

If you have an older computer with a small monitor (smaller than 14 inch), then that monitor may not support anything larger than 800 by 600 at 32. So be careful when you install the video driver that you try 800 by 600 at 32 colors first and see how that works for you. The driver will most likely default to 800 by 600 at 32 when you install it.

This is probably due to the fact you don't have the display adapter's drivers installed. Without these drivers, Windows will allow the display adapter to work, but at a very low resolution and color depth.

Go to the manufacturer's website and download the software for your computer's display adapter.

You are probably missing the video driver for the video card in the computer. Go to the web site of the manufacturer and they should have the driver available as a free download.

Sounds like you need to update your graphics card driver.

If you cant find the model of your graphics display card then download this program http://www.sofotex.com/downloads/d9326.html and run it and choose display and then windows video and it will tell you the model of your card. Not down the details and search http://www.driverguide.com/ for a win 98 driver for it.

You need to install display drivers. Go to the support website of the manufacturer, and look up display drivers for your model, then install them.

Also, the drivers might be on Windows Update if you are using Windows. If so, you can install them from there.
