eventhough that it is very obvious that she has a very good voice,have you ever seen that simon cowell was shocked when melinda was votted out,in my opinion: it is very obvious that even though you have a very good,powerfull voice,judges love you,like,you always have a positive comment in them,but it is always depends if american people will vote for you to save,simon cowell was shocked when melinda was voted out,i THINK blake will make this competition,just because teens and others is infavor with him..what do you think in your opinion?

Well, Simon Cowell is usually very good at predicting what happens. So America probably assumed that would be the case this time as well. Melinda fans probably took it easy, thinking she would easily make it to the finals and Blake and Jordin fans probably voted their hearts, hoping that they'd stay.

I agree with the other people. I think that Jordin has advantage in looks and personality.
If you look at the votes of people who over 25 I think that Melinda would be in the finals.
But teenagers have a big influence on the vote.
Look at Sanjaya going further than Chris Sleigh who I thought should have made the top 5.
Chris S, like Melinda did not have the look although I loved his personality.
I am looking forward to the CD album that Melinda will make in the next year.
Melinda would do well performing in a place like Las Vegas rather than appealing to a teenage audience.

She should have been the winner of the whole thing. I can't believe that America thinks Blake or Jordin are better singers and performers. I'm sure Simon and the other judges were shocked and
horrified. I won't be watching the final weeks. This did it for me. The final five or three should just come down to the Judges and Producers vote so that we have the true people who are knowledgable in the music industry to make that
call.

Out of the top three, Melinda was easily the best singer. However, I think she was less of a favorite of the audience because her personality did not shine through much when she sang. Her performances were perfect, but boring.
Blake has a unique style, and Jordin puts so much emotion into her performances that she gives me goosebumps every single time. They also appeal to a younger viewers than Melinda does, who are more likely to vote multiple times.
That's why they are still in, and Melinda is out.

Last year, the American public voted Chris Daughtry off. This year, some of the best potential was voted off too early because people were promoting a stick with great hair. Now, we're stuck with a guy who is innovative and original, yes, but he is not a singer, he is a performer. And we have Jordin, who is incredible, and who deserves to be up there. But to have voted off Melinda because she's been consistent--and not just consistent, consistently excellent--that's just more evidence that the American voters have their heads shoved somewhere unmentionable. Melinda performed each song professionally and distinctly--she could do every genre and blow everyone else out of the water. Was it that she was too good? I think that must be it. God forbid that the best singer actually wins this supposed singing contest.

Because Blake and Jordin have a more cult following from the younger generation. Melinda has a great and amazing voice which will lead her into a fabulous solo career. However, she did not have a very outgoing and bubbly personality. She just did not stand out as much as the others did.

Ok.. actually my husband called it on Tuesday that Melinda would be voted off and his reason was that I think a lot of the times when the judges really like someone that week voters think that "oh Melinda did so good that she'll get enough votes so I need to put my votes towards Blake"... and there you have it... I think it is a good theory....
I'm glad she's off though... I like Jordin best and I think she can take Blake easily.... If Simon thought Jordin's style is "old" then Melinda's must be "stage 3 Alzheimer"...rock on!

I was just as shocked to see Melinda get voted off.
I thought it would be Blake going home.
I always have thought the finalists would be Melinda and Blake, never Jordin.
I love both of them.
Blake is hip, cool, modern, cute and I like his style of singing and beatboxing. (I am not a teenager).
Melinda will do well in her singing career without a doubt whether she wins or not anyway.

Well sad to say American idol is simply a popularity contest so that was the obvious result,youre right you dont really have to have talent to win AI just drop dead good looks and of course appeal to the teeny bopper crowd,sanjaya would not have stayed long if it was a singing competition having said that i wont that show again.
