there dad disappearedyears ago police have no trace still he had a third share in a house ,the other two people have sold it and are saying kids have no claim where do they stand in scottish law with this.as i dont think he will be alive but missing persons and scotland yard have been looking for a few years with no trace

It depends on how he held title to the house. If he was a Joint Tenant, then no they have no inheritance. His interest terminated at death. Now the other two own it outright. If he was a Tenant In Common, then yes they do have an interest and may be able to collect on it. I urge you to see a solicitor.

The only was your kids could claim it is if he hasn't left a will. Assuming he's dead a girlfriend or associate may of been named as beneficiary in his will.

the only way is if he has made a will, your child's names are on there, otherwise it will go to his next of kin, go and seek legal advice, if you live in th UK, your first 30 minutes are free, all the best
