I know that marijuana is legalized in Canada and other countries but what about the US? I have heard that some states & certain cities have legalized it. What about the legalization as in the "WHOLE UNITED STATES" Please tell me what you think and why they will or will not legalize it.

It has been legalized for "medicinal" use in some states. Actually, I believe that alcohol is more dangerous to our society than marijuana ever will be. People get mellow on marijuana. It is not as debilitating as alcohol. I think they should legalize pot and make alcohol illegal, but remember when they tried to prohibit alcohol before.....how well did that work. I think eventually marijuana will become legal, probably not in our lifetime and I don't even smoke.

As long as our country insists upon living the double standard we have today marijuana will never be legalized. Mainly because it is not and cannot be in the control of Merck, Pfizer or any of the other drug companies. Since it is a product that anyone can grow, it is a product that cannot be controlled by our Corporately controlled Government. So in the interest of making as many criminals as possible, to keep our prisons full and make jobs for other corporate dictators, drugs of all kinds are illegal and ones that should be are not. Essentially I believe we should regulate drugs and not make them legal or illegal. A tax on them would create more than enough annual resource to educate of the dangers. The crime rate would drop dramatically, both in terms of drug related incident and the greed would be lost because the black market would be closed down. Maybe not completely but it would definitely be reduced and the cost and quality would improve as well.

I don't think it will be legalized and the argument to do so is like saying we need to have more stuff to keep us messed up. The closest it gets to being legal is Alaska but that is an odd set of laws and mostly means you can use in your home. What you call being legal is actually decriminalizing it so that you won't likely go to jail unless you sell it or give it to kids. Be a stoner! Be what you are and let it out man. Stop worrying if society doesn't like it and stop trying to work in jobs where having a stoner on the job would be dangerous. Sell ice cream in the park and stay high. Its a free country now so long as you are what you are and stop trying to find a way to hide it legally.

Marijuana is NOT legal in any State or City in America. Who ever told you that was wrong. Marijuana has been de-criminalized in some places meaning that they do not enforce the law, it is still illegal.

Will it ever be legalized? Yes, as soon as Bill Mahr gets elected President.

Oh I sure hope not!
I deal with helpless addicts daily!!
its a shame!!
enough teens get sucked into the alcohol and tobacco thing!
why add marijuana to it?

we don't need anymore legalized crutches!

hell the united states is trying to legalize tobacco, this substance isn't mind altering!!

yet they wanna legalize marijuana? and keep alcohol legal?

although if the united states DID legalize the crap
maybe the illegals would stay in Mexico cuz the drug dealers wouldn't need them to transport marijuana!!

but i can see it now!
as soon as marijuana is legal all the sudden the libs will want crack and cocaine and heroin legal!!

the more people the can keep messed up from reality the more votes they get!!

GROW up America!!
and get a job!!
you think insurance is high now!!
what will happen when all these dope smokers are employee using machinery and cause all kinds of accidents??

your premium is going to sky rocket to cover their expense!

oh but i guess that's just another reason to push for the crappy socialized medicine bull crap!!

When some pharmaceutical company gets smart enough to genetically modify a marijuana plant and get the proprietary patent rights to it, that is when it will be legalized.

Ha! The Feds just took the marijuana from a woman in CA who is in great pain and dying of cancer. They are protecting the drug company profits while people suffer.

Who are the real drug dealers in America? Ask the doctors.

I would think that it is highly unlikely. There is little or no public sentiment to legalise marijuana although there is support for medical marijuana. Further, the links between cannabis use and mental illness are now pretty clear and use of hydroponics have made the drug much more unlikely.

Hope not, because I would be out of a job ;)

Maybe, if a dem comes in office.I don't think more people will use it if pot was legal, more people would try it though. .
