so we're supposed to do all of your math homework for you?

change all of the trig functions into x. For example:

1. 2b^2 +3b+1=0
b=sin(x)

b=-.5,-1

so sin(x)= -.5 or -1

x= -pi/2 or arcsin(-.5)

someone else answer all the rest.

1. 2sin² + 3sin + 1 = 0
(2sin +1)(sin + 1) = 0
2sin(x) + 1 = 0
sin x = -1/2
x = 7π/6 or 11π/6
sin x + 1 = 0
sin x = -1
x = 3π/2

2. 4 - 3sec² = 0
sec² = 4/3
sec = 2/√3
cos x = √3 / 2
x = π/3 or x = 5π/3

3. 1 - cos = √3 sin
(1 - cos)² = 3sin²
1 - 2cos + cos² = 3(1 - cos²)
1 - 2cos + cos² = 3 -3 cos²
4cos² - 2cos - 2 = 0
2cos² - cos - 1 = 0
(2cos + 1)(cos - 1) = 0
cos x = 1
x = 0
cos x = -1/2
x = 2π/3 or x = 4π/3

now going a little faster

4. tan² = sin • 1/cos = tan
tan² - tan = 0
tan(tan - 1) = 0
tan x = 0, x = 0
or tan x = 1, x = π/4 or x = 5π/4

5. sin = 1/sin
sin² = 1
sin x = 1, x = π/2 or
sin x = -1, x = 3π/2

6. not an equation

7. | tan | = 1/2
tan x = 1/2, x = 26.57° or x = 206.57°
tan x = -1/2, x = 153.43° or x = 333.43°

8. same as 4

9. log(cos) + 2 = 1
log(cos) = -1
cos x = 1/10
x = 84.26° or x = 275.74°

Those were my morning pushups, my anti-alzheimers. I wonder what you got out of it?
