Ok, I am a weekend warrior when it comes to drumming so my drumming is nothing special. However I have read that the Rush song "Bravado" has a brilliant piece by Neil Peart, but I have listened to the song several times and don't see whats so hard about it. What am I missing?

Guy, as a fellow drummer of 22 years, it's not something being hard that is the point. The brilliance of the piece is the idea. As Neil once said, "Simplicity can be beautiful, complexity can be beautiful. And they can both be equally not beautiful." Neil had and has a fresh way of approcaching a "rock" drum part. I didn't thing YYZ was that difficult either, but it's still great.

By "brilliant piece" the person may have meant the song as a whole, not just the drumming. After all, Neil wrote the lyrics also. I would concider the lyrics as brilliant.

As far as drumming by Neil that may be more difficult... Try Malignant Narcissism, Jacob's Ladder, Digital Man, By-Tor & the Snow Dog or Scars.
