Abusive parents is probably number one cause of youth violence. Beat your kids, then when they get old enough they will beat on others.
Environment might be next - Poverty, gang culture, crime. When you are immersed in it every day, you tend to live it.
Then there is simply poor parenting. Maybe not abusive, but parents who do not provide a moral compass. If you never learn the golden rule, then what's wrong with beating or killing someone you don't like as long as you don't get caught.

media? how about being beaten by parents when a small child? I used to get beaten but it's ok now. and hey nothing is wrong with me at al-I WILL SEIZE YOU WITH BOTH HANDS, FEET AND GNAW AT YOU WITH MY TEETH THEN BEAT YOU WITH A CHAIR
