Blake being in the top 2 says it all about the idiots who are voting.

am totally with you, America does not vote based on the singing talent, and i think the fact that Melinda went home proves that.

This is the first season I have ever watched the show, and it will be the last. It is nothing more than a popularity contest. At least the Miss America pagent has real judges and doesn't let just anybody vote. Talent doesn't enter into the equation after the try-outs. The judges should vote for the winners, not the teen-agers with cell phones. It is a joke!

no way! then it'd be "music-industry idol." it's often a popularity contest there, too. yes, it's a shame that America sometimes lets people w/ only so-so talent to stay, (sorry, Sanjaya & Haley!) but I think maybe it's the voting system itself that's flawed. it's kinda nuts that 1 person may vote 100 times or more- i'm no expert, but maybe there's a way to get 1 vote per household or phone. (i know, someone will go get 12 cellphones,etc...) well maybe there's some way 2 do it...

I agree. How on earth did melinda get booted in favor of Blake and Jordin? I hope the clowns that voted for those two don't vote for president in the upcoming election.

I agree, Who is Randy Jackson? Paula Abdul could never really sing, and I have never heard of Simon, although Simon is the only one who has any sense. Next year, the Judges should be: Christina Aguilera (or someone like her), Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, and a regular person.

I agree, or have the judges pick the bottom 3 (or 2) and have america vote from there.

That is a good idea. I just believe Idol Voting is getting to be for the entertainment and the "cuteness" of a person and not for the real talent of singing. I just wish "America" would listen to Randy and Simon.

I agree to disagree with you. I think Blake is very talented. He can't be any worse than Robin Thick and he made it big(not off idol though).

I thought that before, but maybe they should do what Dancing With The Stars does, and allow you a certain amount of votes per phone number. Maybe that would be better, who knows?

Then it would have to be called Record Producers Idol. It's all a stupid popularity contest anyway. No one can tell me that Melinda didn't deserve to win.
