I have no problem with hunting as long as the animal is being used for food (in fact, I prefer that to slaughtering animals for food, like cows). I do have a problem with hunting for sport and fun alone. Poaching is a different story all together. Poaching is killing protected animals and is illegal. Endangered species should be left alone, period. There is no reason to kill a member of an endangered species.

Poaching is not fair - it's illegal.
Killing animals by hunting is different. We have basically removed most of the predators at the top of the natural food chain, which means that other animals can multiply out of control. Think of deer as an example - there are very few wolves, bears, or any other animals that can kill a deer in my area. There are also fields of corn growing everywhere. That means an essentially unlimited supply of food in the summer and fall.
If hunters didn't harvest a large number of the deer herd every year, the deer would overpopulate the area. That would lead to huge numbers of car-deer accidents, as well as starving deer in the woods once the corn is harvested. I myself have hit at least 3 deer with my cars in the last 15 years.
Now tell me which you would prefer: seeing the deer die a slow painful death due to starvation, or a quick death?

Hunting and gathering protein rich foods from nature is not any different, ethically, than eating cows or pigs. You have to kill an animal to get meat. That's the way it is. It will not change.
If you do not want to be part of that then you can choose to eat no meat at all. There are some very good vegetarian diet plans that give you all of the nutrition that your body needs to grow and function properly. Most people, however, enjoy some meat in their diet. It is rich in protein and high in fats so it is a very satisfying food to eat, and many people llike it.
Meat that is gathered form hunting is not different from meat that is raised on a farm. It is actually healthier to eat than farm raised meats. It requires no chemical fertilizers to grow food for wild animals. They do not require chemical vaccinations or artificial hormones to grow strong and healthy. No feedlots were polluted to raise them and they are a product of the natural envionment. It is good to control the population of wild animals as well because they have no natual way of controlling their numbers and in certain years when there is a shortage of food many of them starve to death, which is worse than being shot with a bullet or an arrow.
I'm not saying that we are doing wild animals a favor, but hunting has been around for a long time and is not wrong. It is also not wrong to enjoy yourself and have fun while hunting, just like it is okay for you to enjoy sitting down with your family for a nice chicken dinner or to have fun at a barbeque.
Good luck.

First of all, poaching and hunting are two different things.
My sister and BIL hunt and provide themselves meat for a year. In fact, many in her area are poor and that is their mainstay (the deer here are typically 80-110 lbs. so with license and current limits, ends up being about 50 cents a pound). The pickings are easy for deer in her area and without hunting, there would be considerable problems (just cars hitting deer becomes a probelm). I do think trophy hunters in general are typically a bunch of A$@holes, but they are A$@holes in their regular life as well.
Poaching is the illegal taking of animals, fish or birds. Populations have to be managed and poaching typically is excessive.
I think you have to look at your statement as beef, chicken and fish are also innocent animals. Are you vegetarian perhaps?

No, poaching just for fun or mass-torture & killing for greed is only done by the wicked! animals are beautiful harmless beings. There are some very important issues in the world right now that dog my everyday conscience, and they just make petty issues & arguments around me pale.

If you won't kill a dear in the forest, it would be killed by another animal and the worst, the killer animal will scatter its remains after being fed up. Most animals are predators, humans just being predators to survive hunger too like every other animals, ahhh c'mon man don't accuse people of being heartless. ah yeah maybe you are right too

We have the right to eat meat as other animals do and we even kill the humanely. we uase the leather for shoes infact theres not much of the carcus we dont use, we even use the bits of offal for sausages . so we dont waste much,
However killing Animals for fun is not at all a savoury persuit and I regard any man who does as verging on criminally minded . serial killers when assesssed by profilers usually have a cruelty to animals problem somewhere in their up bringing.,and I bet would need closer attention

1. Step back and LISTEN.
2. Poaching and Hunting, are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS, and you should be ashamed of yourself for even tying the two in the same sentance.
3. Hunting is necessary, because man has eliminated those prey animal's natural predators, so we have to step in to fill that roll, or the population of a given animal becomes too great, and they die of starvation.
So in response to your question, I give you another. Which is more heartless....to make something starve to death, or put it out of its misery, quickly and painlessly?

Given a pat on the returned and advised, 'Golly sturdy shot sir!' you're nuts, killing animals isn't, via definition, homicide, so as a result we are no longer letting murderers run loose in society whilst we don't punish hunters. i've got self assurance you unlock someplace the place there advance into on no account any looking or killing of animals, so what grants the appropriate to decide something you do no longer correct comprehend.

Fair? Where does this idea that the world has to be fair come from? We kill them and then we eat them so WE can stay alive. My life or the animals? I choose mine.
