I am a muslim and a liberal one but from my observation, if I tell people that I am a muslim, they usually judge me by my religion and not for my self, a terrorist. Is it a crime to be one?
why do you think it is so?

P.S. Its strictly against muslim law/religion/ethics to kill yourself (commit suicide) or kill other innocent people around you, you would be dammned to hell right away for ever. Keep that in mind!

Hello, If a muslim blows him self up, he isn't a muslim any more, extremists would be pure muslims, pure muslims can not commit suicide in any circumstances, why dont people get this, If I blow myself up, I wouldn't be a muslim to start with this, try understanding that!?!

People are making that decision solely on things that have happened in the world. Here are some of the reasons why Americans link muslims between the ages of 18 and 50 to being terrorists:

World Trade Center bombings (twice)
TWA highjacked in 1987 - 1988
Achielle Lauro - American in a wheel chair pushed off deck
Bombing of US Embassy's around the world.
Bombing of the USS Cole
Suicide Bombers in Israel

Hate to say it, but all of these acts were committed by muslims. Now are all muslims terrorists? No. I am friends with a few muslims myself that have adopted US customs (Santa leaving gifts under a tree) even though we believe in a different God or have different religious beliefs.

Why don't we hear from the non-violent muslims? CAIR has ties to Hamas, so are they really a good representative of your religion?

EDIT:

Dude if a muslim blows himself up and its against the tenents of the religion, why did he blow himself up in the 1st place?

Regardless he is still a muslim. He may have a more radical belief than you or maybe he is reading the Koran and taking the words literally, or maybe his Imam interpretation of the Koran is different than what your Imam preaches. Why does Hamas say that you will have 72 virgins in heavan if you kill yourself? Give us a break, your reasoning does not make sense.

The vast majority of people who make these assumptions about you have met few if any Muslims, and don't know anything about Muslim culture aside from the ultra-violent and fanatical fringe groups associated with things like 911. When that's the only image of Muslims that people are exposed to, intellectual laziness leads to sweeping generalizations- terrorists come to symbolize the religion as a whole. It's called misrepresentation.

muslims aren't terrorist. extremists are terrorists. unfortunately the majority of muslims and people who aren't muslim but look muslim or have a muslim name have to deal with persecution because of extremists. I don't hate muslims and don't blame muslims for extremist and terrorist activities. I blame misguided people on there crazy quests for power and money and there interpretation of waht they say there religious goals should be.

Open your eyes. Muslims around the world are murdering innocent people every day. Islam is the religion of murder as far as I'm concerned.

If it's against Muslim law to kill yourself or innocent people why do Muslims do it every day? Is it for the virgins? Are Muslim men just sexually frustrated? Is that it? Maybe they need to take a trip to Las Vegas and get a little. That might calm them down.

You're sitting on a plane and four other Muslims walk on and sit down...do you think "Cool...more Muslims!" or do you think "Could they be terrorists?". Even if just for a second...

It's just human nature to think stereotypes first...and thanks to al-Qaeda that is now the Muslim stereotype. Until the true Muslims rise up and fight al-Qaeda it’ll remain the stereotype.

Because in their culture they are taught to kill the infidels. (which basically means "non-believers)
Since we are not of their religion or ethnicity, some take it upon themselves to terrorize the US. But not all muslims are terrorists. It's wrong to think that way...

You are in a tough situation right now...from "our" perspective, we know not every muslim is a terrorist, but every terrorist attacking "us" the last 20 years has been muslim...so it's not easy to seperate the two.
