Our government was designed to be the best that our founding fathers could make it. At first, it was quite a good government because it was small and left the bulk of sovereignty to the states. The national government was small, relatively weak in peacetime, and relegated to specific functions. In particular, the federal government in the beginning had no power to interfere with how state laws were enforced.
When the states agreed to form the "United States of America" (1789), one of the conditions that each state insisted upon was that the national government remain powerless to meddle in the states' internal business. Another condition that they demanded was the right to withdraw from the Union if the Union seemed to be intent upon abrogating its constitutional limits.
Well, the national government DID abrogate its constitutional limits, with both force and make-believe. The force began with the Civil War. The make-believe began with the 14th Amendment. The US government has only gone downhill from there. Now we're at the point where our government murders US citizens and covers it up afterward with lies.
Most governments are at least a little bit bad. The US government is a whole lot bad. If it seems less rotten than it is, that's because it also tells a great number of exculpatory lies through the mouths of a multitude of political shills.
Someone asked, "Can you name a better government?" If you can't, it's probably because you are familiar with no other government, not because there isn't a better one. The United States government isn't the best of all possible governments, and, in fact, as it is today it isn't even good government.

Then do something about it. We, the people, complain about our government all the time (I know I do!), and yet very few of us actually do anything. You have more power than you know. If enough people realized this, we could make a difference. The truth is that people have made a difference many times. For example, consider the abolition movement in the 19th century, or the suffrage movement, or the civil rights movement last century. Join a protest group. Vote. Discuss your views in a public forum. And write to your Congressmen and Senators!! That, at the very least, is a simple way to make your voice heard. All you have to do is go to the site below and start writing. Yes, it is true that just your letters won't make the difference, but if everyone did it, I guarantee you these people would take notice. Afterall, unhappy writers are unhappy voters. You can't be corrupt and give in to special interest groups if you don't have a job anymore.

Big money business & government have total rule & control over our lives. I hate it & want to reverse the roles where the Legal Citizen Majority has total rule & control over Business & Government under a true direct consensus democracy of/by/for the people! They should be enslaved to us NOT the other way around! I stand with you as millions of intelligent Americans will & prepared to fight by force! Whats the best organization to join in making this happen NOW? I vote but understand the worthlessness, being it can't be verified/proved/validated like a bank account can & all candidates are seeded insiders for the most part! Write your representatives thats as effective as taking a shower with all your cloths on! The "politicians" minus very few if any exceptions are puppets to the big money & feed the public what they think sounds acceptable while cutting deals to fleece the American public! Again if there any fleecing to be done it should toward Business & Government!

I am very disappointed in our government and the handling of this country. I think more could be done than they are doing. The politicians and money people are running this country into the ground. We the people are somewhat to blame, in the constitution it says UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL
We need to get rid of the hate, the lines drawn for what ever reason and start thinking as a whole. I think we need alot more unemployed politicians. The government was set up of the people and for the people, well the only thing they think about is themselves. What they what, what they need. I hate to say this but the US seems like they will take care of anyone but there own.

The problem isn't the governmental structure. The constitution and the framework of this country is the greatest in the world. The problem is the people running the government and until we all get off our butts and replace them with new leadership we won't see progress. Term limits are a start. Campaign finance reform is another. If you limit the special interests money influence and change the leadership you have a potential solution.

Well than start voting like it...here is the thing, we do need to make our government smaller...that means that they need to have less control about things like businesses in the private sector and they need to stop the overregulation
So when you vote to tax the hell out of businesses and the rich, you are giving the government license to get more involved because the rich and big businesses have more incentive to find loopholes and so the tax code has to be more and more complicated to close those loopholes, which makes it harder for the average American to get the benefits (they don't have as much incentive to hire someone to find loopholes). So if we went to a simpler tax code there would be less loopholes and everyone would be treated fairly, the government would be smaller and people would have incentives to make more money without fears of a higher tax bracket...An example of this is that the death and estate tax brings in just enough money to the government to fund the division of the IRS that tracks down, litigates and collects the death and estate tax...WHAT THE HECK?!
Anyways, this is just one example of why we need smaller government...it just keeps get bigger and bigger and creating more social programs and welfare programs seem like the good thing to do for our country, but it just makes for fatter governments and the reality is that the programs run inefficiently because there isn't accountability and the pay is not at market equilibrium...they would run better if they were privately owned and owners had the incentive to make their company work...
So in conclusion, we need to vote like we really don't want government running things, they have proven their inefficiency, we don't want them running healthcare, we don't want them running social programs, we want scaled down tax codes and we want them to stick with enforcing private property rights and laws than protect the people and that is it...
No party is perfectly right in this regard, but we must demand it like we mean it...

Yes I am sick of it. Until we can get some politicians that will stand against the money then we will be held where we are. Unfortunate that it takes so much money to get elected and the easy way to get that money is through special interest groups. This is why there needs to be spending caps on elections and money accepted by candidates and parties.

So get off your butts, stop whining and get registered to vote, and on election day you vote girl!
,
The next time their is a local town or village meeting, go and let the politicians know you care.
You will be surprised to find that there good people in our government, but they need our help and support.
So lets get to work!
