I often hear people whining and complaining about the terrible service, poor qualitiy good, and the endless long lines, not the mention the dirty floors and aisles. I don't know whats worse the people who shop there or the employees who continue to work there for minimum wage, off the clock, no lunch or breaks, or benefits.
If you continue to shop, you support the slave master, and condone the Walmart policies. If you continue to work there, then your a slave to the corporate master and deserve what you get.
Until it hits the companies bottom line, the status quo will continue.

I don't.
However, it is well known that in North America, people are willing to betray their own family if that means saving an extra dollar.
Companies know that and, in the true spirit of democracy, willingly give people what they want: cheap stuff made cheaper by bringing back slavery.
It does not matter what people "say", it is what they "do" that counts. People say that they do not want to see good jobs disappear, however, they do everything towards making sure that good jobs disappear. WalMart is simply cashing in on the trend (they did not invent it).

I think you need to go do some honest research and actually visit a WalMart instead of believing the anti-WalMart hate groups and union misinformation bullcrap. WalMart pays way over minimum wage and offers benefits more generously than any other retailer. The people who work there are average Americans most of which are looking to suppliment their income. The prices are always very competitive, and the stores very clean and orderly with the exception of the restrooms. Granted, most of their clientele are poor and minorities, but they have to shop where they can get what they need at the best prices. I suppose your prejudiced againts poor and minorities as you have an issue with them as noted in your rant. I continue to shop there because WalMart stocks what I need, the prices are generall pretty good, the store is convenient, its American, and although customer service is not stellar, the people are generally nice.

first, Walmart offers its employees lunch breaks and regular breaks. it's the law if you work a certain amount of hours, you get a certain amount of time for a lunch break.
second, people continue to shop at Walmart because prices are low and people are low on funds. at least that's why i still shop there.
third, some Walmart stores may be dirty and have poor service, but not all Walmarts are like that. there are many locations that care about the upkeep and overall appearance of the store. it's just really sad that at the less-than-appealing Walmarts the employees care more about a paycheck than the quality of customer service they should be providing.

Walmart by me is not bad at all.
But if yours has bad service, dirty environment then you should put in a complaint with the details of what you have witnessed...
As far as the policies, as long as they are legal terms then its up to the employees to either look for another job if they want to leave Walmart...No one can keep you working in a place that now you feel is no good...

because they have stuff I can't find anywhere else. all the small specialty shops are gone, or are CRAZY expensive. Also, the goods are of low quality, but so are the expensive things. I don't know how many times I've paid top dollar for an American product and it went to crap on me 1 month later where the Chinese product for 1/10 the price lasted years or more.

what's it to you or anyone else where I shop? You don't support me,, you don't pay my taxes,, I don't say anything about where you shop or what you do,, so STFU and leave it alone. If you don't like wal mart don't go there, but don't run your mouth about the place.
