Nightmare@666 why do you have such a p!ssy outlook on things? Can you prove that Fairies aren't real? I live beside a real vampire.....but I don't believe in god or satan. I am still stumped on the whole dragon thing however, this one time I swear I saw a lizard fly about five foot throught the air. Could've possibly been a tiny fairy dragon. Think So?!?

What makes you assume that they're not real? The section header doesn't immediately invalidate something.
Folklore, while not tangible, is certainly real - they're the practices and stories that come about from a culture, from the fantastic (like Paul Bunyon) to the mundane (like Johnny Appleseed).
Mythology is comparable, but it's the stories that arise from a religion. Their validity merely depends on whether or not you believe in that religion.

Dude, settle down. Perhaps those questions are put in this category because they simply dont ft into the mundane, everyday realm, much like some of us that answer these types of questions. Not weirdos or freaks, just a tad out of the ordinary. Unable to be categorized. Dont want to be categorized. And who is to say those things arent real? Because they cant or havent been seen?

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

That is not very good reasoning. In fact, that reasoning has more holes in it than a Belgian waffle after I try to cut it.
All that is implied by the category name is that they are featured in a legend or a story. Humans are featured in mythology, and they -- we, that is -- exist.
And besides, I could post a question about CPUs and RAM here, though it would be totally moronic to do so, but that would not make them false. CPUs exist, like it or not, and my computer that I am using to type this is evidence for that!

I usually don't ask. I can research myself. Personally I get tired of the usual "Who's a Vampire/Werewolf?!" because they just got finished watching Underworld or something.
And, of course, where ELSE are we going to talk about this? There's no "Occult" section, so I'll just substitute this until they have one. 'Sides, the Christians and Atheists have taken the religion and spirituality page for the most part. Hehe.

This is freaking laughable. Honey if you don't like the questions then don't come here. Breathe poppa, it's just the Internet. People get so uptight about Yahoo Answers. There are no good or bad questions, it's just a sea of questions.

Well it's usually newbies who write questions that appear to be stupid and constant, and, other low point newbies that ask questions on why so many stupid and constant questions are asked.
It's sort of an Y&A Möbius strip as illustrated by Escher, with ants falling off and climbing on eternally.
