I am 38 weeks, and have had a bag packed forever!! Just thought I would let you know some things I threw in there!

-first picture outfit for baby
-blanket for baby
-going home outfit for baby
-recieving blanket
-I didn't pack this, but wipes and diapers(my hospital provides good ones for me!)

for myself:
-going home outfit(something very comfy and loose!)
-extra underwear!!
-shampoo, conditioner and body wash
-Makeup(in case you want to look nice after the little one is born for pics! I heard alot of women say they wish they would have remembered!)
-other daily toiletries(brush, toothbrush, deoderant, body spray or perfume)
-slippers or warm socks

AND DON'T FORGET THE DAD!! We packed some things for him as well just in case, so that everything was there with us!

Also, I have the carseat in the car, so that we won't forget that as well! I try and stay as prepared as I can for all this....this is my first time and I hope I have done as much as possible to be prepared((even though sometimes you can't be prepared enough!))

Good Luck and Congrats!!! :)

Oh honey, pack today! You will need: some chapstick, phone numbers, and quarters for hubby. You will want a lot of other things. You will be in the hospital for two or more days, so you will have time to go back for things you need for the baby, but here is a list so you don't have to. Put the carseat in the car now, then it will be with you. You will want some comfy clothes for after the baby comes and to go home in. You will want a diaper bag that is mostly empty for the baby, you will be getting all sorts of stuff and pamphlets etc. Just pack 3 onesies and a special going home outfit and 3-4 pairs of socks. You may want some pajamas instead of the hospital gowns but I didn't want my clothes to get dirty so I didn't wear them in the hospital until the last night when the lochia had slowed a bit.
IF YOU HAVE LONG HAIR, keep a hairbrush and some hairties with you at all times. I found myself in labor unexpectedly with my first and it took me nearly two hours to get the knots out of my hair. Good luck

I packed 2 big t-shirt like pairs of pajamas, slippers, 3 pairs of underwear, and 2 outfits. It will all depend on how you feel after the baby. For the baby I just brought a picture/ going home outfit. and a couple of sleepers adn socks. Remember though if this is your first baby, then you may want to have a couple things...NTO MUCH though....in premie size, just because they are still so small the first week or so that they can hardly fit into newborn sizes. But just think abotu it as though you were goign out of town for the weekend, only exclude the 10 outfits you might normally bring. Remember to bring things that can get "messy" because that just might happen. You dont have loko "beautifuL' cuz you just had a babay, peopel understand that, so dotn stress abotu the makeup adn all that, you may not be feelign up to it anyway. Hope this helps, good luck!!!!!!....oh yeha, i never did bring anythign to keep me occupied, the baby did that for me!!!!

I packed my bag for Mother's Day: I'm 35 weeks along.
I packed a robe and slippers for walking the halls during laour and a nightgown for afterwards. I packed some sour candy to suck on, chapstick, shampoo and conditioner in a travel size, and contact lense solution (also in a travel size). I packed some lavendar oil for massage and lavendar lotion, too. I packed a onesie, an extra diaper and a receiving blanket, plus thin socks and cap for baby (though he'll probably come bundled up). I also packed a book, my pregnancy yoga video and birthing manual, pads for my post-labour period, nursing pads for leakage, and a set of clothes to wear home. I'll put the baby book in there, too, probably.
I think that about covers it.

I'm due on June 1st (if everything goes as planned) and so far, I've packed the following:

For Baby:
3 outfits for the baby (one set short sleeves and shorts, another set long sleeves and long pants, and another that's just cute...all 3 are NB or 0-3 months, in case he might be bigger or smaller than expected)

socks and booties and caps

one receiving blanket

2-3 Newborn diapers

For Myself:
Thick, warm socks

A nightie that unbuttons on the side so I can breastfeed

Hard candy (butterscotch and Jolly Ranchers)

Change for snacks and drinks

Sweats and a baggy shirt to wear home

2-3 cotton undies

Maxi pads

Nursing bra

Hair elastics and barrettes

Toiletry kit (shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste)

Chap stick

Miscellaneous Items:
Digital Camera with extra batteries

Baby book with ink pad for extra foot prints

Ipod

Novel to read

Snacks like cookies and chips

Cell phone

I also put my purse and insurance card right next to my bag, in case I have to suddenly go to the hospital.

Best of luck to you!!!

I packed a full baby bag with onesies, daipers etc and I never opened it. The hospital has everything for your baby. As for me, I also had packed a full suitcase and I never opened it either! I spent the week wearing the hospital gowns, undies and socks they provide because you bleed so much after delivery. I would recommend your own blanket and pillow, for you husband too. Also, a robe, slippers, socks, toiletries, pads, boppy, cell phone and charger, comfy outfit to go home in for you and for baby a pj and blanket,
also a pad and pen to write down feeding times and the names of all the nurses if you'd like to thank them later.
Good luck and Congratulations!

I packed a robe, magazines, drinks and snacks that they won't give you in the hospital, and your hygiene stuff. For the baby bring the car seat, it's first outfit, a beenie, socks a blankie and a little teddy bear so it'll feel pressure as if he's being held. Also for you, an outfit that's comfortable. I had to stay in the hospital a week, so comfort is everything. If you're going to breastfeed, bring a nursing bra. That's basically it.

We brought the whole house with us! Just kidding, but we had a very well packed bag(s). One thing that you cannot forget to bring is food for your husband, they don't feed him. Also sneak in some crackers or another light snack for yourself (You aren't suppose to eat anyhting but having a cracker here and there really helps!). Anohter thing that I found helpful was having my own PJ's for after delivery, I hate those uncomfotarble backless gowns that the hospital give you to wear. Good luck!!!

Comfortable clothes for when you leave. You may leave still physically feeling and lookin 5 months prego. I was happy that I had my shampoo and conditioner from home instead of that hospital stuff. A brush or comb. Music, or notebook enven though it seems there is no time for that anyway. Bring a comfy pillow or blanket cause thiers is not very comfy.

I took some socks, dark colored underwear, some dark nightgowns, and a robe. Also my babies going home outfit.

Others like to take a picture of a favorite animal(as a focal point during labor), a phonebook with numbers of people to contact, and sometimes, baby shower thank you cards to fill out.
