Why do you say that? If you are talking about the SGLI (servicemens group life insurance) that is actually $250,000 at a minimum. It is simply life insurance that the military member does not have to pay monthly premiums on. How much is your life insurance? Is that what you are worth?

Oh and dsynfolt - I am an American veteran and I have made over 200,000 in the last couple of years. The military men and women are highly trained and very intellegent people. Don't talk crap about something you know nothing about - idiot.

cos american soldiers r garbage soldiers. the U.S. military is the last resort for the disenfranchised masses, if they hadnt joined the military most would be lucky to earn $200000 in their lifetime and once they join they r so poorly trained and equipped that their operational "life" is so short there is noway they will earn $200000 before they r killed by friendly fire so when u look at the facts it really is a generous offer its a win/win deal cos society gives them the death penalty before they shoot the attendant while robbing the store to feed their kids and when they do get killed by friendly fire their family gets a lump sum lottery payment that's prolly as close as most poor americans will come a social welfare

That's a pretty lousy thing to say.

It's likely that in Iraq, that's probably enough money for people to give into, and offering more for info wouldn't get more.
